Call for Fall Applications

LBSS PTSA Mini-grants committee is dedicated to providing financial assistance to LBSS academic clubs, departments, organizations, and/or classes to help pay for enrichment materials, supplies, and equipment in an effort to advance scholastic opportunities for all LBSS students.

We are excited to announce that we are now accepting fall applications for the 2020-2021 academic year.

  • Mini-grants now accept applications in both fall and spring. A call for spring applications will be issued after school starts in January. Please apply in spring if you plan to spend your grant money in spring.
  • Approximately two-thirds of the funds will be allocated to Fall and one-third to Spring.
  • Only one application is accepted per person/group per school year.
  • The maximum amount is $500 for an individual application.

Sample requests from past grants: books for students to share, educational board games, student activities, and supplemental supplies for instruction.

The grant will NOT cover: food, incentives, transportation, conference expenses, computers, iPads (or similar gadgets), or technology for a specific teacher (must be under the custody of a department, an organization or school).

We understand this school year is by no means normal. The committee will consider any request that could enrich student learning.  Our fundamental principle is to maximize the funding, i.e., benefit as many students as possible. 

We are accepting inter-departmental collaborative grant applications. If a requested item/resource can be shared by multiple departments, the committee will consider a bigger grant amount up to $1,500. The application request must be submitted with the approval of each department head. One collaborative application per department per school year. Maximum one collaborative grant will be awarded each semester.

Notification of awards will be sent by November. If you are awarded a mini-grant, you must claim your grant no later than January 31st, 2021. Otherwise, the grant will be returned to the PTSA general fund.
