The 25th Annual Craft Fair
Saturday, October 16, 2010

This single-day event has consistently drawn over 1,000 patrons for the past 25 years. There are over 100 vendors, many of whom return year after year selling their original or handmade wares and handicrafts. Items range from handmade jewelry and hand painted shirts, to personalized decorative sleds and a vast variety of holiday merchandise -- this is the fair to patronize!

This year's Fair will be held on Saturday, October 16 from 9AM to 3PM at the school: 9200 Burke Lake Road in Burke, Virginia. Crafters can click here for rules and regulations, as well as an application.

All Night Grad Party
Register Your Graduating Senior Now and SAVE!

The LBSS PTSA will host the ANGP for the Lake Braddock Secondary School Class of 2010 on Monday, June 21. ANGP provides a safe, alcohol-free environment for our celebrating seniors immediately following graduation on June 21. The party is from 11:00 P.M.-5:00 A.M. at the Wakefield Recreation Center.

As one of the biggest events organized by the PTSA, dozens of volunteer parents have been busy planning a night filled with activities, food and fun! The students can try their hand in the "casino," go for a bungee run, have their caricature drawn, make memories in the photo booth, enjoy a swim in the pool and much more! Prize drawings will be held throughout the night and a smorgasborg of food will be available in the cafe. Register now and save! Cost is $55 if received by April 1, 2010. After that the cost is $65.

Adult volunteers are still needed to help plan the party and chaperone during the event. Especially needed are volunteers for the second shift which is from 1:30 A.M.-5:00 A.M. Help make a memorable night for our graduates!

Love Doesn't Hurt: Dating Info for Teens/Parents
June 7th Presentation

Do recent events in the news have you wondering:

• Can my child recognize healthy, or potentially harmful, relationships?
• How can I encourage my child to reach out for help?
• Does my child know what to do if a friend needs more than just a friend?

On June 7th, Fairfax County's Partners in Prevention (who brought Saturday Night in the Suburbs to LB) and Detective K.W. Taylor from George Mason University's Threat Assessment Investigation unit shared a Power Point presentation of factual and useful information on safe teen dating in high school and beyond. Students learned necessary levels of alert to help guide them through trouble spots, or circumvent potential problems.
