PTA Scholarship Opportunities

FCCPTA is offering $500 scholarships in four categories:

• Academic: Students enrolled in a four-year, state-approved academic degree program.
• Technical: Students enrolled in a two or three year approved technical, vocational, or associate degree program.
• Fine Arts: Students enrolled in a school of arts, college of design or institute of the arts degree program.
• Special Education: Special education students (identified with a current Individual Education Plan-IEP) entering approved technical, vocational, associate degree or a four-year academic program. 

Applicant Eligibility

• Student must be a current PTSA Member by December 31, 2025 and meet the following eligibility:
  • Graduate from a Fairfax County Public Schools (FCPS) high school that has an active PTSA in good standing with Virginia PTA and FCCPTA as of December 31, 2025;
• Be eligible for one of the four categories and be accepted for fall admission to higher education program (only one category per student)
• Complete online application to include student statement. 

APPLICATIONS DUE: May1, 2026 

ELIGIBILITY:

• Applying high school seniors must be a student PTA member of a Virginia based High School PTA/PTSA that is in good standing with Virginia PTA
• Applying high school seniors should plan to enroll in one of the following continuing education options for the 2025-2026 school year
  • College/University four-year academic degree program
  • Technical, vocational, or associate degree (2-3 year) program
  • Institute/College of Arts, Dance, or Design
  • Special Education program within a technical, vocational, associate degree or a four-year academic program

APPLICATIONS DUE: APRIL 1, 2026 

 Due by 11:59 p.m. ET on Monday, May 20th, 2026

The LBSS PTSA is pleased to offer the opportunity to apply for this scholarship to all LBSS students graduating in 2026:

• SIX $1,000 Scholarships
  

Applicant Qualifications:

• Applicant must be a Senior at Lake Braddock Secondary School
• Applicant must be a current PTSA Membership and joined by December 1st, 2025
• Applicant must plan to continue their education at a 2- or 4-year accredited college, vocational or technical school, or other accredited post-secondary program for the school year beginning in Fall 2026.
• Applicant must have demonstrated responsibility, character, and leadership during their high school career – to include activities in and outside of school; awards received and leadership roles; employment and volunteer service, etc.

Scholarship Application Submission:
Please complete the below form by May 20th, 2026.

• Application Form completed with student and parent signatures
• Essay Response Form (paragraph format)
• Activities sheet or resume detailing school and community service/activities, achievements, and employment experiences
• No incomplete applications will be accepted.

Scholarship Tuition Payments:

• PTSA Scholarship recipients will be announced at the June Senior Awards Ceremony.
• PTSA Scholarship Payments will be applied to recipient’s post-secondary tuition as soon as possible, but no later than December 31, 2026.
